Every few months, AIM hosts an online mini retreat, which serves to connect and uplift the participants. These virtual mini retreats are open to all. Since they are held via Zoom, participants can join from any part of the world. Sister Josephine Sullivan currently attends all the way from Ireland!
Each virtual mini retreat has a theme and includes prayers, songs, a pair of talks, and discussions that are most often related to the theme, thus deepening the spiritual experience.
Most of the talks are given by the spiritual director. However, periodically, a talk might be given by a retreat participant with a compelling story to share. These talks might describe the participant's personal journey of faith in light of their physical challenges, or how an AIM volunteer's participation has strengthened their faith experience,
Prior to the start of the 1 1/2-hour retreat session, and after it has finished, participants are able to share greetings and conversation as a way to build and maintain community.
AIM's last mini retreat was held April 20, 2024, from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. The theme: Recreated in the Spirit. The retreat included two spiritual talks by Father Kevin McQuone of St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach. There was also be music and prayer.
We invite you to view this excerpt from AIM's Dec. 11, 2 retreat, so you can get a taste of what our retreats have to offer.
The first discussion is on "The Virtue of Hope in Our Hearts," exploring Romans 8:22 -25. The second is "Persistence through Adversity, Fueled by Hope." The video includes prayer, song and participant reflections.
