The retreats are open to adults ages 18 and older with physical challenges. Each individual with a disability will be paired with a volunteer who will assist them during the retreat and share the spiritual experience with them. A nurse will also be present at the retreat.
AIM will announce its safety procedures at the time its next Day of Spiritual Renewal is announced. AIM will base its decisions on US CDC recommendations, the level of community spread of COVID at the time of the retreat, and other factors that may emerge. The goal is to provide a safe, spiritual environment for participants, many of whom are considered vulnerable or at high risk from the disease.
Application information will be provided once a Day of Spiritual Renewal is announced.
AIM cannot provide transportation to participants. However, if anyone needs financial assistance to cover transportation to a retreat, AIM will provide reimbursement for pre-approved ground transportation expenses within South Florida. Please contact Margarita Castellon at 954-821-6077 if you'd like to discuss transportation options that may be available to you, or to verify your eligibility for reimbursement.
The AIM team will try to be flexible to accommodate as many people as would like to attend.
While AIM retreats are based on Catholic beliefs and practices, they are open to people of all faiths who have a physical disability. Unfortunately, we are not equipped to serve adults with severe medical conditions, intellectual disabilities or mental illness.
